David literally grew up in the cleaning industry as he worked for his father, Jim Murphy’s, janitorial service for many years in the Greensboro area. David received his B.S. degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 1988. He and Gary Collins founded Supreme Maintenance Organization in 1989. David received his CBSE designation from the BSCAI in 1996 and has served on several BSCAI committees he currently serves on the it’s Board of Directors. During the early days of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, David served on the BSCAI sub committee to help create the COVID 19 Disinfection & Safety Course/Certificate.
David enjoys fishing, supporting UNC football, and spending time with his family. He is a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
David is also involved in community service and is a Co-Founder and currently serves as President of Kids to the Coast. His past roles include: Advisory Council Member Salvation Army, Board Member Salvation Army’s Boys & Girls Clubs, and President of the Kernersville Raiders.
